Regard Magazine Charity Holds Event for Slavery Free World With Celebrity Guests and Event Host Riverdale’s Marisol Nichols.

Regard Magazine partnered up with the “Coin Up App” recently to hold the “Regard Cares” launch of the Fall Issue of the magazine. Riverdale’s Marisol Nichols graces the cover of the issue. The event was to spread awareness on her charity foundation SlaveryFreeWorld.org.

Once I knew what was going on in it and to little girls, I wanted to focus primarily on the child sex trade, which is a horrific sentence just in itself to ever have to say, let alone have to start a foundation to stop it. The only way I felt I could sleep was if I started doing stuff about it.

On June 2, 2016, Slavery Free World produced an intimate briefing with Operation Underground Railroad featuring former CIA and Homeland Security Operatives, Tim Ballard and Matt Osborne. We were also honored to have California District Attorney Amanda Hopper, the District Attorney’s Chief Investigator Jason Parker, and Sheriff Deputy Carl Dinwiddie as special guest speakers that evening.
Visiting Rescued Children in Haiti

As part of her work with partner Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), Ms. Nichols had the opportunity to visit an orphanage in Haiti where children rescued from trafficking are placed. After a successful victim rescue operation, in some instances O.U.R. is able to return rescued children to their families.

On July 12, 2016 Congressman Erik Paulsen held an Anti-Trafficking Roundtable in Washington, D.C.. More than a dozen organizations including Foundation for a Slavery Free World, Operation Underground Railroad, Uber, Rights4Girls, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Polaris Project, and The McCain Institute to name a few, were asked to participate in the discussion.

Annual Human Rights Hero Awards

The Second Annual Human Rights Hero Awards was held on September 21st at Eva Longoria’s restaurant Beso in Hollywood. The event was produced and hosted by Marisol Nichols and her nonprofit organization Foundation for a Slavery Free World in partnership with Youth for Human Rights International (YHRI).
